Frank Banham is a sniper, a designation he earned in 1995-96 when he had the highest goal total of any player in any major league in North America or Europe. He scored 83 goals for the Saskatoon Blades in the WHL that year, setting four team records, including most career points and career goals, and garnering league all-star honors.
He had originally been chosen by the Washington Capitals well down the list in the 1993 entry draft, 147th overall. He was later signed by Anaheim as a free agent and saw his first action with the Mighty Ducks in 1996. In the last four years he has seen spot duty with the Ducks, spending most of the time in the minors but receiving call ups each season but never earning a full-time spot on the roster to date.
