Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Yves Sarault
The 1991 draft was the year that the Montreal Canadiens selected Yves Sarault out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's St-Jean Lynx as their 4th choice, 61st overall. This draft saw the number one pick, Eric Lindros, selected by a team that he refused to play for, and other such talents this year included Peter Forsberg, Zigmund Palffy, and Jozef Stumpel,.

Sarault spent the next three seasons in the minors, honing his skills until being called up to the Canadiens during the 1994-95 season. He was traded to the Calgary Flames in 1995 where he spent most of the season with the AHL's Saint John Flames, collecting 22 points in 26 games.

After becoming a free agent in 1996, Sarault signed with the Colorado Avalanche where he spent the next two seasons. From the Avs he moved back East to spend time with the Ottawa Senators. After brief stints with the Sens, he played in the minors with the Grand-Rapids Griffins in the IHL collecting 43 points in 62 games.

The 2000-2001 season saw Sarault with the Atlanta Thrashers and their IHL team, the Orlando Solar Bears where he registered 34 points in 35 games.
