Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Cameron Mann
Right-winger Cameron Mann began the 2001-02 season hoping to earn a place on the deep Dallas Stars roster. A junior standout, he spent his first four pro seasons vacillating between the minors and the NHL's Boston Bruins.

Born in Thompson, Manitoba, Mann first gained attention as a top player for Kenora Thistles of the NOJHA in 1992-93. He then moved on to the Peterborough Petes of the OHL and was selected 99th overall by Boston in 1995. He returned to junior and helped the Petes reach the Memorial Cup final as the host team in 1996. Mann was named to the tournament all-star team, voted the MVP of the Memorial Cup competition, and placed on the OHL first all-star team in 1996 and 1997. During his first four pro seasons the young winger was recalled to Boston for parts of each season but was unable to land a permanent spot on the roster. He proved to be an asset on the AHL's Providence Bruins where he hit the 20-goal mark three times. In June 2001 he was traded to the Dallas Stars for Richard Jackman and hoped to get a fresh start in the upcoming season.
