Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Craig Reichert
Craig Reichert was selected 67th overall by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Reichert had completed a 119 points season with the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League and appeared promising to the fledgling Ducks. Craig attended training camp in the fall and was assigned to the farm team. He played 49 games with the San Diego Gulls Anaheim chose to place him with the Baltimore Bandits for 1995-96.

The following season Reichert traded places with Frank Banham and joined the Mighty Ducks. Reichert was called up for a road trip through Long Island, Toronto and Calgary between February 4 to 9, 1997. Through his three games Craig did not record a point or penalty. It was not until his final game in Calgary that he even recorded a shot on goal. He sent three shots in Trevor Kidd' s direction but had the Calgary netminder stop them all. The Ducks lost all three road contests and the team shipped Reichert back to the Baltimore Bandits where he finished with 75 points. For 1997-98 the Ducks moved him to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, where he became the team captain.

When his contract with the team expired in 1999, Reichert moved to the Florida Panthers organization during the off-season. The Panthers chose to place him with their farm team, the Louisville Panthers. For 2000-01 Craig Reichert left for Europe to play with Dusselforfer EG in Germany. The continental experience lasted just one season as Reichert signed with the Edmonton Oiler organization in 2001. That fall the team assigned him to the Hamilton Bulldogs where he passed the 400 AHL game mark.
