Left-winger Jeff Lazaro spent portions of three seasons in the NHL during the early 90s. He ended up finding greater success internationally on the US national team and in the domestic leagues of Europe.
Born in Watham, Masachusetts, Lazaro signed as a free agent with the Boston Bruins in September, 1990 after spending four years at the University of New Hampshire. He split the next two years between the Bruins and the AHL's Maine Mariners and was a solid performer during the 1991 Stanley Cup playoffs.
The young forward was picked by the Ottawa Senators in the 1992 Expansion Draft and scored six goals for the first year club. During this period Lazaro played for the US at the 1993 and 1994 World Championships and the Lillehammer Olympics. He began his European career in 1994-95 with ATSE Graz before spending two seasons with Ratinger Lowen of Germany. Lazaro returned to North America in 1997 and scored 37 goals for the ECHL's New Orleans Brass where he played for the most part through the 2000-02 season.
