Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Peter Lappin
Right-winger Peter Lappin played briefly with the Minnesota North Stars and San Jose Sharks in the early 90s. He was a natural goal scorer who attained a fair bit of success in college and the minors.

Born in St. Charles, Illinois, Lappin starred at St. Lawrence University where he was named to the ECAC first and second all-star teams once each. He was taken 24th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 1987 Supplemental Draft and scored 48 goals in his first pro season with the IHL's Salt Lake Golden Eagles. He was also a key factor in Salt Lake's Turner Cup win in 1988.

In September 1989, Lappin was traded to Minnesota and played his first six NHL games. He spent most of his time with the Kalamazoo Wings where he scored 65 goals over two seasons. In May 1991 he was picked by the Expansion Sharks in the Dispersal Draft and made into one NHL contest the next season. He retired in 1992 after notching 28 goals for the IHL's Kansas City Blades.
