Defenceman Daniel Laperriere spent parts of four years with the St. Louis Blues and Ottawa Seantors in the 90s. He was a fine passer who enjoyed most of his success in college and the minors.
Born in Laval, Quebec, Laperriere spent four years at St. Lawrence University and was taken 93rd overall by the Blues in 1989 after his freshman year. He returned to school and earned a place on the ECAC first and second all-star team once each and was a NCAA East first team all-American in 1992.
During the early 90s the young rearguard was recalled to St. Louis for a few games but was chiefly a key member of the powerful Peoria Rivermen of the IHL. In April 1995 he was traded to Ottawa and was part time player for them into the start of the next season. Laperriere toiled in the AHL and IHL for a couple more years before retiring in 1997.
