Centre Sergei Klimovich played one game with the Chicago Black Hawks in 1996-97. He was an experienced domestic and international player in the CIS and demonstrated an ability to score in the minor leagues.
Born in Novosibirsk, USSR. Klimovich played four years with Moscow Dynamo between 1991 and 1995. In 1992 he was selected 41st overall by the Chicago Black Hawks in the NHL Entry Draft. The next year he played on Team Russia when it finished a disappointing sixth at the World Junior Championships.
Klimovich debuted in North America with the IHL's Indianapolis Ice in 1994-95 and looked fairly comfortable with the transition to the smaller ice surface. He played two more years with the Ice and received a one game recall by Chicago in 1996-97. After playing in the West Coast league and the "I" in 1997-98, Klimovich ventured overseas to suit up with the Austrian team EC Graz and the Augsburger Panther club in Germany.
