Defenceman David Van Drunen played one game for the Ottawa Senators in 1999-00. He was a hard-nosed competitor who could also contribute on offense and play the point on the power play.

Born in Sherwood Park, Alberta Van Drunen excelled for four years on the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders. After turning pro he bounced around the minors for several years where he was known as a tough customers who could also make player. After his one game in the spotlight with Ottawa he returned to the minors where he was an effective player in the ECHL and IHL through the 2001-02 season.
