Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Chris Kenady
Right-winger Chris Kenady played five games with the St. Louis Blues in 1997-98 and was still hoping for another shot at the NHL as of the start of the 2001-2002 season. In college and the minors he demonstrated an ability to contribute on offense while playing with grit and being responsible defensively.

Born in Mound, Minnesota, Kenady starred with St. Paul in the USHL in 1990-91. Following that season he was selected 175th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the Entry Draft. After his selection, Kenady opted to attend the University of Denver for four years. He proved to be a rugged two-way forward as a prepared to enter the pros.

Kenady played his first three professional seasons with the Worcester Ice Cats of the AHL. He was a consistent scorer and rugged competitor who experienced little difficulty making the transition from college. He recorded two assists in five games with the Blues in 1997-98. On February 22, 1999 he was sent by St. Louis to the New York Rangers. Kenady remained in the minors through the 1999-2000 season but did receive a two-game recall by New York.
