Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Ken Hodge
Ken Hodge Jr. spent parts of four seasons in the NHL during the 80s and 90s. Following in the footsteps of his father, Ken Sr., the young centre/right wing enjoyed one solid NHL season but ultimately played more pro hockey in the minors Europe.

Born in Windsor, Ontario, Hodge was chosen 46th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in 1984 out of St. John's Prep school. He then spent three years at Boston College where he accumulated 60 goals. The talented youngster played five games for the North Stars in 1988-89 but otherwise spent the majority of his first three pro seasons with the IHL's Kalamazoo Wings.

Following a trade to the Boston Bruins, Hodge broke out as an NHL rookie with 30 goals in 1990-91. He was named to the league's all-rookie team and did Ed Belfour win a finalist for the Calder Trophy. The hustling forward also registered ten points to help the Bruins reach the semifinals.

Hodge's play dropped off in 1991-92 and ended up spending a quarter of the season in the AHL. Prior to the next season he was packaged to the expansion Tampa Bay Lightning where he was role player for the club. After nearly three years in the minors, the once promising NHLer signed with the Cardiff Lions of the British League.
