Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Daniel Dore
Right-winger Daniel Dore played parts of two seasons with the Quebec Nordiques in the 80s and 90s. A top power forward as an amateur, his minor pro and NHL career was fairly disappointing based on his earlier potential.

Born in Ferme-Neuve, Quebec, Dore was taken fifth overall by the Nordiques in 1988 after he scored 24 goals and registered 218 minutes in penalties on the QMJHL's Drummondville Voltigeurs. He returned to junior and fired 33 goals the next season but did not show progress at training camp in 1989. Dore began the 1989-90 season in junior before he was recalled to Quebec.

During his 17 game NHL career Dore seemed to wilt under the pressure of being an impact player in his home province. He spent 2 1/2 years in the minors before retiring in 1994 with his best performance being 12 goals for the AHL's Hershey Bears in 1992-93.
