Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Kevin Brown
Right-winger Kevin Brown was a role player for three different clubs in the 1990s. He was a fine scorer in junior, the minors, and Britain but was unable to gain solid footing in the NHL.

Born in Birmingham, England, Brown came to Canada as a boy and played Junior B with Georgetown and the Waterloo Hawks before joining the OHL. He was a solid player on the Belleville Bulls for two years and was claimed 87th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 1992. The Kings returned him to junior where he was traded to the powerful Detroit Junior Red Wings. Brown recorded consecutive 50-goal performances and helped the club reach the Memorial Cup finals in 1994 when he led all player with 40 points in 17 games.

Brown showed a bit of promise during a 23-game stint with the Kings in 1994-95 but never progressed. Between 1996 and 2000 he was strictly a farmhand for L.A., the Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers. In 2000-01, he suited up with the Manchester Storm in the British league the returned to North America to play in the WCHL with the Anchorage Aces and Phoenix Mustangs.
