Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Brad Smyth
After three seasons with the OHL's London Knights, where, in his final year with the team in 1992-93 he collected 109 points in 66 games, Brad Smyth signed as a free agent with the Florida Panthers. He then played in the minors for several seasons and led the league in points when he played for the Carolina Monarchs of the AHL in 1995-96. Shortly thereafter, he made his NHL debut.

He led the league in goals and points that season, while collecting numerous accolades. Smyth was named to the AHL first all-star team in 1996 and won the John B. Sollenberger Trophy as the league's top scorer and the Les Cunningham Plaque as the AHL's MVP.

Smyth played eight more games as a Panther before being traded to the L.A. Kings in 1996. He was then dealt to the Rangers but played only one game with them, spending the majority of the season in the AHL with Hartford. Smyth then signed as a free agent with Nashville, once again spending the season in the minors.

He was dealt back to the Rangers in 1999 but played with Hartford once again in the AHL leading the league in goals.
