Legends of Hockey -- NHL Player Search -- Player -- Robin Bawa
Robin Bawa was a five-year veteran of the Kamloops Blazers and an all-star in the rough and tumble WHL. He was signed by Washington as a free agent in 1989 after failing to attract NHL interest in the draft, and he then played four broken seasons with four different NHL teams, the Caps, Vancouver, San Jose and Anaheim.

Two trades to to Vancouver and the Sharks was followed by Anaheim claiming him in the Expansion Draft, but after a dozen games with the Ducks he was back in the minors, rescued by the Dallas Stars who signed him as a free agent. The Stars, though, never used him in the NHL and he settled into a career in the IHL.

All went smoothly until the night of April 14, 1999 when he suffered a serious concussion and missed more than a year recovering from the effects of the injury. Although he was healthy again off ice, he didn't risk further damage to his head and he retired from the game.
