Led by goalie Art Puttee and speedy forward Blake Watson, Canada's University of Manitoba Grads outclassed the opposition at the 1931 tournament in Poland. Canada prevailed 2-0 over the United States in the gold medal game. Goals by Watson in the first and Frank Morris in the third gave the Canadians the win. Puttee did not allow a single goal in the tournament for Canada, recording six shutouts en route to the gold. Canada also beat France 9-0, the Czechoslovaks 2-0, Poland 3-0, Austria 8-0, and tied the Swedes 0-0. Other members of that team included Gord MacKenzie, Ward McVey, Jack Pidcock, Guy Williamson, George Hill, and Sammy McCallum.
