IIHF Men's Junior Under 20 World Hockey Championships
The Soviet Union was the top team at the first official World Junior Championships in Banske, Czechoslovakia, finishing the 1977 tournament with a perfect record of 7-0. The Soviets scored 51 goals to set a record which would not be beaten until the Canadian junior team scored 54 goals in 1986.
