Ulf Samuelsson Hard-rock defenseman Ulf Samuelsson earned a gold medal and international honors early in his career when he was named to the tournament all-star team at the 1982 European Junior Championships. He represented Sweden at three World Junior Championships and made his debut at the IIHF World Championships in 1984-85. He played for the NHLAll-Star against the Soviet nationals at Rendez-vous '87 and was a member of Team Sweden at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano. He played for Leksand in the Swedish league before joining the Hartford Whalers in 1984. He won back-to-back Stanley Cup titles with Pittsburgh in 1991 and 1992.
