International As a member of the Czechoslovakian National Team he played at four Olympics and 12 World and European Championships between1959 and 1972 ...Served as captain of the team for many years ... Silver medalist at the World and European Championships in 1961, 1965, 1966, 1968 and 1971, bronze medalist in 1959, 1963, 1964, 1969 and 1970 ... Silver medalist at the 1968 Grenoble Olympics, bronze medalist at Innsbruck in 1964 and at the 1972 Sapporo Olympics.

Career Played 21 seasons in the Czechoslovak League ... Started at the age of 18 in 1957 with Skoda Plzen ... Spent the next 20 seasons with clubs from Brno (RH, ZKL, Zetor) ... Has played the most number of games (686) in the history of Czechoslovak hockey ... Scored 403 goals (second overall behind Milan Novy) ... Played for the Czech national champion from 1960 to 1966 ... Twice(1963-64 and 1969-70) was the top league goal-scorer ... In 1978-79, was a playing coach of ATSE Graz (Austria) ... Continued his coaching career in Austria with WAT Stadlau (1979 to 1982) ... Came back to Czechoslovakia and coached ZVL Zilina (1982-83).
