Canada, represented by the University of Toronto Grads, won gold in grand style, scoring 38 goals in three games and allowing nary a goal. Goalkeepers Joe Sullivan, who would later play for the NHL's Ottawa Senators, and Stuffy Mueller earned the shutouts. Up front, Hugh Plaxton and Dave Trottier paced the team with 12 goals each. The Grads were first coached in Toronto by Conn Smythe, but he withdrew his services prior to the Olympics over a dispute with the CAHA. Manager William Hewitt (father of Foster) directed the team in St. Moritz. The squad featured two sets of brothers, Dr. Joe and Frank Sullivan, along with Bert and Hugh Plaxton.
