Goran Stubb


Born on March 10, 1935 in Käkisalmi, Finland. Goran Stubb was instrumental in organizing the "Four Nation" tournaments, which became a highly touted international forum to the development and to showcase young ice hockey players in Czech Republic, Finland, former Soviet Union and Sweden. It was and is through these tournaments that many future ice hockey stars have got their first international experience. Goran was the Managing Director and Congress Delegate of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association from 1976 to 1983. He was General Secretary of the 1982 IIHF World Championship and Press Director for the 1974 and 1991 IIHF World Championships. In total, he has been a part of 72 IIHF World or European Championships. Goran Stubb was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 1991 and has worked with the NHL Central Scouting European Office since 1983.
