Jiri Holik


Born on July 7, 1944 in Hvlicko Brod, Czechoslovakia. Forward Jiri Holik played for the Dukla Jihlava club team in Czechoslovakia, winning seven national championship titles. While playing abroad, Holik suited up for SB Rosenheim in Germany, and later for WAT Stadlau Wien and Wiener EV in Austria, which is where he finished his career in 1985. Jiri Holik was a member every time the Czechoslovakian national team participated in the IIHF Pool A World Senior Championships from 1964 to 1977. During that span, he, along with his teammates, captured the IIHF Championship title in 1972, 1976 and 1977. Holik was an Olympic silver medallist in 1968 and 1976 and a bronze medallist in both 1964 and 1972. Jiri Holik played an amazing 319 national team games for Czechoslovakia, scoring 132 goals and also appeared in the 1976 Canada Cup.
