Born on December 15, 1924 in Prague. Referee, sports official, meritorious referee (since 1981). His career as a referee was launched in the county of Rakovnik in the local competition around Kladno (1946-47). He moved onto the county of Ceske Budejovice (1948-49), refereed original and divisional matches in Prague (1949-50). League referee (1952-69), international referee for 15 years. Referee at seven World Championships (1955-59, 61,65). Chairman of the Referee Committee since 1973. Since 1978, a member of the IIHF International Committee of Referees. Recognized authority on ice hockey rules, publicist. Lectured at many ice hockey referees international conferences. Advocate of modern refereeing strategy. Developed systemic comprehensive education for referees. |
