Häkan Loob


Häkan Loob was born on July 3, 1960 in Visby, Sweden. He played in 133 national team games for Three Crowns and participated at the 1992 and 1994 Olympics and at four World and European Championships. Loob was instrumental in Sweden winning the 1987 and 1991 World Championships as well as Olympic gold in 1994. He moved to North America in 1983 and became one of the more successful European players in the NHL. Loob was named to the NHL's First All-Star Team in 1988 and earned a Stanley Cup ring with the Calgary Flames in 1989. He is currently the General Manager of Färjestad in the Swedish Hockey League.
