Gustave Jaenecke was born on May 22, 1908 in Berlin, Germany. He played for the German National Team from 1927 to 1939 and saw action at three Olympics (winning a bronze in 1932) and at eight World Championships (silver in 1930, bronze in 1932 and 1934). Jaenecke played on gold medal-winning teams at the European Championships in 1930 and 1934, and bronze medal winners in 1927, 1933, 1936, 1938 and 1939. A distinguished tennis player as well, Jaenecke won the German title in tennis in 1932, and played five times at the Davis Cup. Gustave Jaenecke died in May 1985. |
